BLESSINGS
We all know what a blessing is.
As a Christian I recieve a blessing everyday.
I am so thankful for all that the Lord blesses us with.
The Lord took me back in time this morning.
When I was a teenager we didn't have much.
There was Dennis (my brother), then me, Donna (my sister), and
Laurie (my youngest sister).
My dad was gone and my mom was left with a house full of kids and
little income.
My mom made most of our clothes,(the girls anyway).
So she saved a lot of money there.
But also we handed our clothes down to the next sister.
Being the oldest girl there was no one to hand down to me if it hadn't
been for a neighbor who had 2 girls older than me.
Before school would start they would bring over the clothes their girls
didn't wear anymore.
I was so greatful for those clothes.
There was sweaters, jackets, and other things too that my mom didn't
sew.
For me it was like Christmas in August.
On the other side of the coin my sisters hated it that they wore hand
me downs.
As far as I know to this day it is designer labels (new) or nothing at
all.
I was not a Christian then but in my heart I know God was teaching
me to be thankful for all things.
There are blessing that you recieve.
Then there are blessing that you give to others material things.
There is one more blessing.
You can be a blessing to someone without giving them anything
except for your time and compassion.
If God blesses you with say a new care that is awesome.
Say a month later you meet someone that has no transportation and
no money to buy a car.
Would you give them your old car so they could get around?
Maybe this is a test God has given you.
First pray about it.
If you get conformation through a word or by God speaking to you
give them your old car.
We need dicernment because there are people out there that are
looking for a free ride.
They don't want to work.
They want to use people to get what they want.
Just remember to pray about everything.
Pray for dicernment so what you freely give is the right move.
All I am saying is that we are so blessed why aren't we being a
blessing to someone else?
You know the old saying it is better to give than to recieve.
That is so true.
Make sure you are doing it to glorify the Lord.
If you are doing it to be recognized by man that is your reward.
If at all possible give without letting them know who gave it to them.
It will fill you with joy knowing that their day is a little brighter
because of your gift of love.
We all need to learn to give from the love of the Lord in our hearts.
Many give because their brain says they should.
That kind of giving bring no joy to you.
Remember God gave His only Son because He loved us so much.
I pray we all learn to reach out to the lost and those in dispair with
our hearts and not our minds.
The joy that brings is so awesome there are no words to discribe how
we are feeling.
My prayers are with all who read these words from my Lord.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
