RING IN THE NEW YEAR
The world tells us we should go to a party New Years Eve.
Have a few drinks and get happy.
Eat a big meal.
Dance the night away.
While you are sitting down resting think about your New Years
resolution.
One wants to loose weight.
One wants to quit smoking.
One wants to do better with their finances.
One wants to get a better job.
One wants to spend more time with their family.
One wants to get a new car.
Well the list can go on and on.
Most of the things on the list won't come to pass.
Within a couple of days you have forgotten all these things.
What motivated us into saying those resolutions?
Was it so you would look better in the eyes of the world?
I have given this a lot of thought this year.
Instead of thinking about worldly things I am going to look at the one
thing that makes life worth living.
I am looking at the one constant thing in my life.
The Lord is the one thing that makes life worth living for me.
So what I have decided is to spend more time with the Lord this
year.
I desire a closer relationship with Him and the only way to do that is
to spend more time with Him.
To get to know Him better also takes time with the Bible reading
scriptures.
To grow in Him means spending more time listening to Him while He
ministers to me.
To spend as much time writing as He wants me to do.
The more time I spend with the Lord the less my flesh will hinder my
relationship with the Lord.
My flesh will decrease because I am spending more time with the
Lord.
I guess I got carried away but my point is that if you are a Christian
just think about a New Years Resolution that will increase your
spirit and decrease your flesh.
What an awesome way to spend the next year.
I'm thinking of it as the first year of eternity.
Looking forward to each day and what the Lord will be teaching me.
So come on Christians lets ralley together and be about the Lords
work in the coming year.
Worship Him just for who He is.
Praise Him for all His amazing love that He has for all His children.
Let His love fill you to over flowing so that all that come in contact
with you will feel the Lords love.
My prayer is that all who read these words, the Lord gave me, will
feel the fire and desire the Lord has given me and you will also
see the need for more of the Lord in your lives.
