As a young Christian I really didn't open myself to do things for the Lord.
In some ways it was fear.
That I wouldn't get it right.
Then I started growing in the Lord.
Still the fear of failing the Lord was strong.
If I made a mistake I was afraid I'd discourage someone from giving their hearts to the Lord.
I just kept saying surely You don't want me to do that.
The more you grow the more responsibility the Lord will give you.
The other fear was letting the Lord down by not doing a good job.
The thing is God didn't give us the spirit of fear.
The evil one will whisper in your ear, you can't do that.
Sometimes he sends someone we know that will try to discourage us.
I've even experienced a pastor to discourage me.
We need to stay away from people that put a negitive spin on everything.
If you need to talk to someone about what the Lord wants you to do go to a Christian that has a positive out look on
life.
They will encourage you to listen to the Lord.
To follow His directions.
The most important thing to remember is that God won't ask you to do something you can't handle.
The Holy Spirit will direct you in the right direction.
More important He will put the words on your tongue to speak.
He will give you the strength you need to do what the Lord wants.
I think it's exciting when I see what the Lord is doing in my brothers and sisters in the Lord.
You need to make sure the Lord is the one requesting you to do something.
Ask the Lord to confirm what His request is.
You can also go to a brother or sister in the Lord and pray about it.
After you've done all that do as the Lord has asked.
I for one don't want to end up in a whales belly like Jonah.
I want to be in the Lords will.
The Lord has been directing me to speak to a group of people.
At first I said I can't do that.
In high school I flunked a public speaking course.
But with the Lords help and the Holy Spirit putting the words in my mouth it wasdn't so bad.
It gets easier everytime I speak out.
It still not my favorite thing to do but if thats what the Lord wants I do it.
When the Lord asks you to do something have faith and know that the Lord is in control.
That you are able to do anything He wants you to do with His help.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
