Once upon a time a person could leave home and not have to worry
about answering the phone.
We were actually happy to get away from the ringing of the
telephone.
Then they came out with car phones for the rich.
It made them feel real important.
Someone else jumped on the band wagon and said, well why
shouldn't everyone have a phone in case they have car trouble.
Sounded like a good idea.
Especially for women that were driving at night.
That was great and it did help but it was still expensive.
Next thing you knew every teenager had a cell phone.
Only they did not use them for emergencies.
There are so many cell phone companies now that just about every-
one can afford a cell phone.
When people ask for my cell phone number and I say that I don't have
a cell phone they give me the strangest looks.
No matter where you go the phones ring non stop.
I have watched people funble for their phones carrying a baby and
groceries.
When it stops ringing before they can get it they get really frustrated.
In restraunts, grocery stores, post office, driving, walking, running,
and just about all activities people are talking on the phone.
I am sure that none of them were emergencies.
The whole time they missed the most important call in their life.
GOD HAS BEEN CALLING YOU!!!
But you were busy at the grocery store talking about the high prices
on your cell phone.
God got a busy signal.
You are in the middle of one crisis about which dress to wear talking
on the phone.
God called you again.
You checked your caller I D and said they can call back.
God let it ring and ring.
Finally God hung up.
You are in church and listening to the scripture and your cell phone
rings.
You get up and go outside and answer your phone.
God was speaking to you through His Word.
But that phone call was more important.
You just missed the most important call in your life.
If we gave God 1/10 the time we spend talking on the phone it would
make a big difference in our lives.
And just maybe in someone eleses life.
Turn your phone off while you are driving and talk to God.
While you are jogging or walking talk to God and listen to the life
lessons He will give you.
When you go out to dinner with a date or your mate shut the phone
off.
You are being disrespectful to the other person.
Besides what makes you think everyone around you wants to hear
what your schedule for the next day.
I am not saying ditch the cell phone.
God is saying don't make it the most important thing in your life.
My son works 16 hour days.
Sometimes he will call so he can stay awake.
But while we are talking it always seems that we end up talking about
the Lord and our ministries.
My prayer is all who read the words the Lord gave me will not get
angry but think about what He is saying.
My prayers are with all of you and may God bless you.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY
SPIRIT THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
