WALKING
IN THE WILDERNESS
There are too many Christians walking in the wilderness.
The Israelites walked in the wilderness because of their disbelief.
Why is it that Christians believe that Jesus Christ is Gods only Son but
have trouble believing anything else?
God has promised His children many things.
He wants only the best for His children.
The problem is we want the blessings but not what we have to do to
get the blessings.
We are down right lazy.
There is no other excuse.
Our hearts are not right.
The love God has given us, we aren't using it the way we should.
Our flesh is getting in the way.
We think about ourselves first.
What our flesh wants is what we go for.
When we do that is when we end up in the wilderness.
The Israelites wondered for 40 years.
Of all the original Israelites that Moses brought out only 2 entered the
land God had promised them.
All the other children were born while they were in the wildreness.
That was not Gods plan but because of the foolish way the people
were acting none of them were allowed to enter the new land.
We are just as foolish as the people back then.
God will do the same thing with us.
Those who are serving the Lord will continue to grow in the Lord.
Those who act foolishly and turn away for Gods will have to pay the
consequenses.
We will end up in the wilderness.
If we push God too much those who are in the wilderness will never
see the New World.
In the wilderness God tried to teach the Israelites His ways.
He wanted them to praise and worship Him.
But instead they grumbled and complained.
God got very angry.
They had food to eat.
Clothes on their backs.
God gave them all that they needed.
There was always water.
They saw all the miracles and still wanted a statue to worship , a
golden calf.
I heard someone say the other day that they had to change some-
thing in themself to get right in God.
My friends this is the wrong way to think.
We don't have to clean ourself up to go before the Lord.
We go before the Lord so that He can clean us up.
When we ask Jesus into our hearts we are a new person.
That is why they call it being born again.
Without Jesus we will die in our sin and spend eternity in hell.
A sister told me once that she was in the wilderness with the Lord.
That God wanted her there to prepare her for her next position in the
Body of Christ.
What God is showing me is that we are in the wilderness because we
are out of His will.
The wilderness is not a good or comfortable place to be.
It is a punishment for turning away from Him.
The Israelites were definately being punished for all their grumbling,
complaining, and for the golden calf they made to worship.
The Lord prefers us to be in His will.
Jesus will teach us in our daily lives.
He will send people into your life that have already learned the
lesson you are being taught.
He will teach you through scriptures.
He will come to you in dreams.
He will even give you a vision.
These are all different ways that the Lord teaches us.
None of which has to be used in the wilderness.
When we are obediant it blesses Jesus.
Jesus doesn't like to punish us.
But somethimes it is the only way to get our attention.
When my son got into trouble he had his own little wilderness.
Sitting at the dining room table writing sentences, I will not do it again.
It was something that got his attention.
It generally worked too.
He usually did not repeat the behavior that put him in his wilderness.
Some people learn quicker than others.
The Israelites didn't learn fast at all.
They were being punished and still grumbled and complained because
they wanted blessings that they did not deserve.
My prayer is that all who read these words, the Lord has given me,
that you will pray to be in the Lords will.
Pray and seek the Lord and walk in His ways.
If you do end up in the wilderness don't be stubborn.
Learn the lessons God is trying to teach you.
Please don't end up dying in the wilderness.
Listen to the Lord so that you will be in His will and then come out of
the wilderness.
God bless you and yours.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
