Someone said to me why do people who serve the Lord have such a hard life?
They have one tragity hit after another.
A loved one passes away.
The loss of a job.
Illness hits and they suffer.
Financial problems weigh them down.
The car breaks down and they don't have the money to fix it or get another car.
The list goes on yet they still praise the Lord for their blessings.
My answer was this.
God didn't promise us we would have smooth sailing all our lives.
He did promise us He would be with us in good times and bad.
We just have to trust in Him and know that He is in control.
Also if we go through trials and tribulations we have a better understanding of what it feels like.
We can help those who don't know the Lord because we've been there and done that.
It also gives us a chance to witness about the Lord.
You could say God offered us a rose garden thorns and all.
The evil one will throw things in our path to discourage us that we might turn away from the Lord.
There's something else to think about.
A non Christian see us go through our trials.
They will be watching you to find fault in you.
We go through them and can still smile and praise the Lord.
When we finally come out of the situation we are stronger.
They might even want whatever you've got.
So you see they are a witness to those who don't know the Lord.
Besides if you always had everything you wanted and no troubles or sickness why would we need the Lord?
As humans we can be pretty selfish.
If you never had to work or need anything why would you ever seek the Lord?
So you say I'm saved and the Lord handed everything to you on a silver platter I'm good now.
You wouldn't desire to know the Lord more.
Sometimes our trouble is caused by bad choices.
Or the evil one tempts us and we go for it.
Just like Eve did when she took the apple.
Just like Adam when he tried the fruit.
We bring so much on ourselves.
When we realize we made a mistake we repent and ask the Lord to forgive us.
As long as we are saved the Lord will help us out of our mess.
But to become a Christian you must believe Jesus is Gods only son.
Then you have to ask Him into your heart.
Jesus died on the cross for all the sins of the world.
That includes yours and mine.
Then He rose from the dead 3 days later.
Jesus defeated death.
If you are a Christian you also will defeat death because of what Jesus did for us.
But you must walk in the ways of the Lord.
Though our lives aren't perfect on this old world we praise the Lord for all He does for us.
We know that one day the Lord will call us home and it will be perfect.
No more sickness, no more death, no more sadness, no more pain.
We'll all praise the Lord and live for all eternity.
While we're on this earth God promised never to leave or forsake us.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
