When the Lord gave me this subject to write about my reaction was
"Oh My".
What could I say?
The first thing He had me do is look up the definition of respect.
I want you to read the definition and think about it for a minute then
continue to read.
To consider worthy of high regard and to refraim from interfering with.
Okay, now that you have thought about it let me ask you this.
How many times have you disrepected God in the last week or for that
matter today.
Did you wake up and give the Lord the praise and worship He
deserves?
Don't you think that was disrespecting the Lord if your answer is no?
Have you put God first or do you go about your day and send up a to
do list at the end of your day and call it your prayer
time?
When was the last time you took a CD(gospel) and just worshiped the
Lord for at least an hour?
When the worship was done did you pray and praise Him and not ask
for anything?
Last but not least did you take the Lords name in vain?
I pray that you have not.
But have you heard someone else take the Lords name in vain and not
say anything to them?
You may not have said it yourself but if you truly respected the Lord
you should have said something to them.
Now the Lord asked me have you been interfering with my work?
I know I want to say no and you do too.
You would be surprised how many times our flesh gets in the way of
Gods work.
Forinstance have you ever steped in and helped someone that the
Lord has been trying to bring into the light?
We know that we all hit bottom with no way out before we turned to
the Lord.
Sometimes we have to go through bad things to bring us to our knees.
Do you step up and give that person what they want to keep them
from being in a bad situation?
By doing this you could be condeming them to hell.
Why should they seek God if they can get what they want without
the Lord?
Before you help someone make sure that its the Lords will for you to
step up to the plate and help them.
Then the Lord reminded me that we should also respect the things
He has blessed us with.
God wants to give us nice things but if we don't take care of them
why should He?
When I was a kid respect was a word that was used a lot.
God blesses us with our homes, cars, clothes, and shoes.
He also blesses us with an income.
How many times have you heard a parent remind a child to be
respectful of other peoples things?
We need to put respect back into our vocabulary.
Some people don't care.
If you break something that was a blessing to the other person there
will be hurt and resentment there.
My husband has a heavy duty care hauler.
Everytime he hasd loaned it to someone it came back with something
broken and always something had to be repaired before
it
could be used again.
You see God wants us to be respectable people.
To respect Him above everything.
To respect and take care of the things He has blessed us with.
Also to respect other peoples blessings.
If we would all remember the definition of respect and put it to good
use and teach our kids to do the same it would
be a much
better place to live.
But first we must teach our children to respect the Lord.
If we don't respect the Lord the rest won't matter because we would
not care one way or the other.
My prayer is the who ever reads this will take it to heart and teach
others what respect is.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
