When witnessing to an acquaintance that was the first question.
Isn't being a Christian boring?
All you do is go to church.
Let's not forget reading the Bible.
My answer to them was this.
Do you go to rock concerts?
Of course their answer was yes.
Well I go to concerts to and sing praises to the one that created us, we call it church.
We don't take drugs to our concerts.
We let the Lord fill us with joy; it's a greater high than you've ever experienced.
Then I ask do you go to barbecues?
They said yes of course.
We had a keg of beer; it was fun until someone got in a fight.
I said well, we went to a barbecue and we all had soda and water.
We all joked around.
We told stories about comical things that had happened during the week.
Nobody went home mad because they got into a fight.
But we did pray and give thanks for the food and fellowship.
Then I asked have you gone out to the lake for a picnic?
Well their answer was yes of course but last year one of the guys got drunk and drowns.
My eyes filled with tears and told them I was sorry.
We go to the lake too and have picnics but without alcohol.
Everybody went swimming.
The kids had a great time too.
The guys got a ball game going with the kids.
The women got the meal ready.
Before we ate we prayed.
Thank the Lord for the food, fellowship, and the beauty of His creation around us.
They said, so what is the big deal to looking around it is the same old thing?
My reply was how about the grass, flowers, trees, and even the lake?
We eliminate things like drugs and alcohol that gives you a fake high.
We get high on the Lord, His word, and His creation. Plus we don't get up the next day with a hang over.
Let the Lord take you on a high that will fill your soul with joy, love, and peace.
Praise God the Father, Jesus our savior, and the Holy Spirit that lives within us.
