READ THE SCRIPTURES
We are such a blessed people in the United States.
We can purchase a Bible in any department store.
Not to mention all of the many Bible Book Stores in all the states.
Every city has a number of churches all denomination.
We are free to worship any way we want.
There are many countries that it is against the law to sell Bibles.
They can't even have a Bible in their homes.
Christians are being persecuted all around the world.
But here in the US Christians don't have to hide that Jesus Christ is
our Lord and savior.
The sad thing is most Christians have several Bibles in their homes but
spend very little time reading them.
I have pondered on that and realized that once again the Lord is
speaking to me and many others.
There will come a time when we will also be persecuted.
There won't be any Bibles.
All the Bibles will be burned.
We won't be allowed to worship any time we want.
The enemy will deceive many because we have not read the
scriptures.
There have been times when a scripture comes to mind because of
something going on around me.
I don't always remember where to find it in the Bible but the Lord
brings it forward when it is useful in a situation.
But we have to read the Bible daily.
I'm not talking about 15 or 20 minutes a day.
How many hours do you watch TV?
How about you cut that time in half and read the Bible the rest of the
time?
I don't know about you but I can look at my day and see just how
much time I waste during the day.
You see you will be less likely to be deceived if you have the
scriptures in you.
The Lord will bring them to your mind when you need them.
No one will ever understand all that they read but the Lord will give
you the wisdom to understand to keep you from being deceived.
Seek the Lord and get to know the way to live through the scriptures.
The people in countries where they can't have a Bible feel like they
blessed to just have 1 page out of the Bible.
I once heard about a community that only had one Bible.
So they took the Bible and divided it up among all who were in the
community and they studied their pages.
They would get together and discuss what they had read.
They would exchange pages with someone else and study those
pages.
Those people were hungry for the Lord.
Would you go to that much trouble to read your Bible?
I have come under conviction with this paper.
It really makes me feel ashamed of myself.
It should be saying the same thing to many Christians out there.
Not only that we don't read our Bibles like we should but at how little
time we spend with the Lord in prayer.
We, the Christians of the US, need to get hungry for the Lord and to
want to know the way we should be living.
We can't just sit back any more.
We have to get the scriptures in our hearts and our minds.
If we don't we will be easy picking for the biggest deceiver of all
Satan.
The Lord is challenging me to take my wasted time and read the
Bible.
How about you?
Are you up for the same challenge?
My prayer is who ever reads these words, the Lord has given me,
will feel the need and get hungry as they did in that community
and read the scriptures.
God bless you and your family, may the Lord keep you close to Him.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY
SPIRIT THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
