CHRISTMAS AND YOU
Thanksgiving will soon be over.
The world will start pushing Christmas the day after Thanksgiving.
What does Christmas mean to you?
What are you filling you children and grandchildrens heads with.
As I drive around and look at the decorations I think wow, have they
ever missed what Christmas is suppose to be.
The lights are beautiful and look how many stars are put up for those
are things that the Lord can appreciate.
After all the star lead the people to the new born King.
The lights honor the Lord Jesus Christ.
In one yard they had 5 Santa Clauses, sleigh and raindeer, snowman,
elves, workshop, a train loaded with toys, and so on.
A sign that reads Santa Stops Here.
Jesus was not born in the winter.
If He had been the sheep and shepards would have been in the
stable keeping warm themselves.
Instead they were in the fields when the angel went to them and
told them about Jesus.
Since we don't know exactly when Jesus was born we can celebrate
His birthday in December.
But if you do why does Santa Clause have top billing on Christmas?
Gods children should not be promoting the worlds idea of what
Christmas is all about.
Jesus Christ was born in a humble setting.
But the star shown brightly in the sky to show the way to the baby
Jesus.
The world says buy, buy, buy, and buy some more.
People haven't even pay off the bills from the previous year.
Now it is time to heap up the bills again.
God doesn't want His children to be in debt for a bunch of toys that
the kids don't even appreciate.
Jesus Christ was Gods gifft to us so we might have ever lasting life.
Some of the schools have taken, out of all Christmas programes,
songs that talk about our Lord Jesus Christ.
When we take Jesus out of Christmas there is no Christmas.
Is it any wonder why the kids today are so confussed?
When asked about what Christmas meant to K-2nd grades you can
imagine the response.
Lots of presents from relitives and then Santa comes.
We have to be good or Santa Clause won't come.
Some of the children did mention the birth of Jesus Christ.
But those same children believed in Santa Clause too.
That tells me that those children were from a Christian back round.
You can not live with one leg in the light and one leg in the darkness
of the world.
Quit confussing your children!!!!
God does not want His children confussed.
So why are we doing it to His little ones?
Your children are a gift from God for you to teach for a time and then
give them back to God.
If you want to continue celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ on
Christmas these are some of the things you must do.
Tell your children there is no such thing as Santa Clause.
That the Lord has blessed us with some extra money so we can give
you a gift of love.
Praise the Lord and worship Him on Christmas.
Make a birthday cake that says Happy Birthday Jesus.
Thank God that He would give His only Son to man knowing what
Jesus would go through.
Would you give your only child over to a bunch of people you knew
would torture him and nail him to a Cross?
Make Christmas all about Jesus Christ.
Do not dishonor God by putting Santa Clause into the mix.
That will only confuss the children.
God is not the author of confussion.
Christians as a child of God should not want to cause any confussion
either.
Some will call you an old Scrooge but that is okay by me.
My goal is to please the Lord not man.
Who are you trying to please?
God is preparing His children for the days that lie ahead of us.
My hearts desire is to learn all of His life lessons.
This word is one of Gods life lessons.
We have a choice.
You can walk in the Lords ways.
Or you can walk in the ways of the world.
If you choose the ways of the world on judgement day you will have
to answer for the way you lived.
When I know that I am in His will and that the way I am living pleases
Him it fills my heart with His love.
The joy of the Lord fills me to over flowing.
We have to be an example to the lost souls in this world.
Every Christian should want to please the Lord and be in His will.
For goodness sake don't spend more money on Christmas than you
have in your wallet.
A gift of love does not have to cost a lot of money.
It is just plain silly to spend so much that it takes a year or more to
pay it off.
Try this and see how it works for you.
This year instead of spending a lot of money have everyone make the
gifts, yes mom and dad included.
The love that goes into that gift you can not put a price tag on.
They will be appreciated more than a store bought gift.
God loves us so much and would never hurt us by the words He is
having me write down.
We all need to obey God and to trust Him.
Even when what He is saying makes us squirm in our chairs.
And don't you know that when you are under conviction it is always a
little uncomfortable.
You know you are wrong and you need to change but we are so set in
our ways.
I tell you the truth better to change our ways than to answer on
judgement day.
Here are some scriptures for you to read: Matthew 1:18-25, 2:1-14,
1Corinthians 14:33, Luke 2:1-21.
Before you read these verses pray for wisdom so you will understand.
Then read them and study them.
The world has tried to make light of the birth of Jesus Christ.
I pray that you will not do the same.
My prayer is that all who read these words, the Lord has given me to
write, will be recieved in love as the Lord has given them in love.
Jeremiah 10:1-4: Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you. O
house of Israel. Thus says the Lord: So not learn the way of the
Gentilies; So not be dismayed at the signs of heaven. For the
customs of the peoples are futile; For one cuts a tree from the
forest. The work of the hands of workman with the ax. They
decorate it with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and
hammers. So that it will not topple.
I pray that you will pray about these scriptures and ask the Lord if
you don't understand. The scripture in Jeremiah is pretty plain.
God bless all of you and yours.
PRAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
