TAKE CARE OF YOUR PARENTS
Your parents have taken care of you since birth.
I know sometimes a nursing home is the only way.
But many times we just back away because it will change our plans for
our life.
When our parents become ill and need care we have to step up to the
plate and help them.
You can and I can find all kinds of excuses why they have to go to a
Nursing Home.
We aren't educated in that area.
We have no time and have to work to keep the bills paid.
Our house isn't big enough and we don't have enough rooms.
We can't afford the extra expense.
The list goes on and on.
Didn't you care for your children when they couldn't take care of
themselves?
Of course you did.
You took them to the doctor, fed them, dressed them and so on.
So why can't you do it for a parent?
As far as time goes you made time for your children do it for your
parents.
The amount of space can be delt with by doubling up or making one
of the rooms into another bedroom.
The expense should not be a problem since they are probably have
some income to help.
Another way to think about it is how many times did they do without
so you could have something special.?
Probably more times than you can count.
Once you put a loved one in the Nursing Hime they loose their will to
live.
Most people only go visit occasionally at best.
Some don't have anyone visit them at all and they pass away from a
broken heart..
To think that no one cared and loved them left them empty and ready
to give up on life.
They feel like they are a burden and just give up.
The next question I ask you be real honest with yourself.
Is that how you want your children to treat you?
My husband and I were put through that test 2 times.
The first time with his dad.
Dad had altimers and putting him in a Nursing Home wasn't an option.
It would have killed dad to be away from Mom.
After his dad passed on we were faced with the same question with
his mom.
Mom had cancer of the liver and it got really hard to take care of her.
But praise the Lord we managed to keep her home until she passed
on.
I am so thankful to the Lord for giving us the strength to keep them
both at home until they passed on.
That was their wish and the Lord made it possible.
I'm not trying to lay any guilt trip on you.
We didn't do anything that would make us special.
Many times there is no alternitive to the Nursing Home.
For us we had a peace of mind when they had gone on to be with the
Lord.
Seek the Lord if you are faced with the same question.
If there is no choice but to put them in the Nursing Home make sure
that you visit often and make sure they are being taken good
care of.
Let them know that they are loved and missed very much.
Take them out for a day now and then so they feel like they are still
part of the family.
What ever you do if you have a peace of mind about the situation
then it is a good thing.
My prayer is that who ever reads these words, the Lord has given me.
will remember how much their parents did for them and the
sacrifises they made for your sake.
That you will be willing to sacrifice things in your life when they need
your help.
God bless you and your family and may the Lord keep you close to
him.
PRIAISE GOD THE FATHER, JESUS OUR SAVIOR, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT
THAT LIVES WITHIN ALL CHRISTIANS.
